International Activity - Std 6th and 8th

25-09-2021

Although the "Education for Global Citizenship" is absorbed in each and every subject in EIS, the teachers still use it as a separate segment by asking the students very simple questions during the regular teachings as well as by conducting chart making competitions, making presentations, videos, Art and Craft, simple cuisine preparation and by using props.

These questions are thought-provoking and age-appropriate like;

i) How do you as an individual see the world?

ii) How are we interdependent on each other in this whole world with respect to culture, food, religion, politics and many more.

A wide array of international activities are conducted during the whole academic year and all of them are regularly monitored as well as improved yearly by the continual improvement team.

Here are few International Activities that are done by students of Grade 6th and 8th.

Grade 6 - International Activity - Comparative Study between Egyptian civilization and Indus valley civilization

An ancient civilization is a topic that helps students have a better understanding of the world. For example, when relating ancient civilizations to humanities and social sciences, it helps students understand the economic and political commonalities and differences among cultures, people, and the environment.

Grade 8 - International Activity - A comparative study about the French Revolution (France) and First War of Independence 1857(India)

EIS students compared the timeline, places of importance during the revolutions on the respective maps, causes of both, and the effects. They also enjoyed few amazing unknown facts about both the events. Through this activity, the students were able to understand that both revolutions were in opposition to oppression. They could apprehend the sacrifice of freedom fighters that went in achieving this freedom.
