Virtual Experiment Session - Grade 8th

22-12-2020

Light travels in a straight line as long as it remains in the same medium. Due to refraction of light, when a ray of light enters from one transparent medium into another, it changes its path or bends at the boundary separating the two media. Total internal reflection takes place at the boundary between two transparent media when a ray of light in a medium of higher index of refraction approaches the other medium at an angle of incidence greater than the critical angle.

When a ray of light falls on any object (polished, smooth, shiny object), light from the object bounces back those rays of light to our eyes and this phenomenon is known as “Reflection” or “Reflection of Light”.

This phenomenon is what enables us to look at the world around us.

With available materials at home, the experiment was conducted in a virtual session.
