Visit to National Chemical Laboratory (NCL, Pune)

02-08-2018

EIS students had an amazing chance to visit the National Chemical Laboratory on their field trip day.

National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NCL is a science and knowledge based research, development and consulting organization. It is internationally known for its excellence in scientific research in chemistry and chemical engineering as well as for its outstanding track record of industrial research involving partnerships with industry from concept to commercialization.

Students initially met and had a talk with scientists, Mr and Mrs Selvaraj. Following this, they then explained the format of the morning which was to have a presentation and then witnessing live experiments; and then they were going to show EIS students some of their technical pieces of equipment and explain how they work.

Although students only spent a morning in NCL, it was a very interesting time which flew by as they had never seen anything like it before; and it showed them the sort of things they can expect to do in the upcoming academics. Students were very grateful to the people at NCL; and especially to Mr and Mrs Selvaraj for arranging this opportunity.
