Interactive Skype Session - Visit to Konark Temple: An Architecture Marvel of Eastern India.

Educon International School had organised an interactive Skype session with Mrs. Archana Awasthi (From DPS Ghaziabad). She explained that The Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century Hindu temple dedicated to the sun god - ' Surya'. This is shaped like a giant chariot and is known for the exquisite stone carvings that cover the entire structure. The temple is the most popular tourist destination in Orissa and has been a World Heritage Site since 1984. It is located in the village of Konark, which is 35 km north of Puri on the coast of the Bay of Bengal.

This lesson included a presentation of 30 minutes to tell in detail about the history and architecture of the temple. It was a very informative session that EIS students enjoyed.
